Christmas Is Coming!!

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving yesterday! We had a wonderful day with my mom here and cooked WAY too much food for 3 adults. We went to Opryland Hotel last night to look at the lights and walk through the atrium and it is absolutely beautiful! I tried getting some good Christmas pictures of Emmie for our Christmas card and didn't have much luck! Babies are really hard to get good pictures, so I will try again tonight and the next few days until I get the one perfect shot...if ever!! Here are a couple of pictures of Emmie in her cute little Gingerbread dress and stockings!! As we walked through the hotel, we just heard all the "Awwwww's", from everyone we passed, over Emmie. One woman even grabbed her husband and I heard her say (in a whispered tone), "Look at that baby, she is actually a CUTE baby!"...it was very funny!! So, I was of course the proud momma of my "actual cute baby"!!

Also, this is just the cutest thing ever, I thought I would share with all of you that have baby girls (Christi) and know of someone with a baby girl (Christy...Wendy). My mom got this for Emmie at The Loot in Andalusia and just HAD to get it for Emmie! Let me explain what it is....In the cold winter months, when you have to put a hat on your baby girl when taking her out and have to bundle her up from the weather, most people can't tell whether she is a boy or a girl baby (because they all look alike at this stage, right), sooooooo, here is a "hat" you can put on the baby to make sure everyone KNOWS "it" is a girl!!!....Absolutely ADORABLE!

I had the most people last night at Opryland just loving this hat and bow...it was sooo funny!! Although Emmie may not have thought it was too funny...or cute, for that matter!! LOL

Here are some cute pictures of MiMi and Emmie while she has been up here visiting.

And lastly, I always hear from all of you how you can't wait to just kiss all over Emmie when you see her again, so I put a little Mistletoe on here so you can all get some sweet kisses to hold you over until Christmas!! And also, look at the bottom for a cute gadget where you can leave me (or Emmie) a present!!

ONE more picture I had to put up here is of my good friend Emily (a co-worker). She has always said the whole time I was pregnant that there aren't any cute babies and how she doesn't like to hold babies, etc. (she SAYS she isn't having kids...we'll see :). Well, my mom and Emmie came to visit me at the office Wednesday and here is Emily and Emmie.....

Emily said Emmie WAS a cute baby...for a baby and she held her (for a long time) while we were here!! I think Emmie remembered her from in utero, Emily would always poke my belly and tell Emmie to move for her!! It was always funny!!

WAAAAAAAARRRRR EAGLE, HEY!!!

Here it is, the biggest game of the year......The Iron Bowl. Let's see if (even after a pretty rough season) we can do it AGAIN for the 7th STRAIGHT year in a row! I know, I know, we've had a not-so-good year, BUT I still believe we could pull off the upset of the year, literally!! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my Auburn Tigers and it seems to run in my blood because Emmie has even caught the fever.....

(sorry the picture is from my cell phone and isn't the best:)
Okay, as hard as it is to admit it, IF (and that's a big IF, because as you all know in the Iron Bowl it is always a toss up, even if one team seems a clear winner, you never know) Alabama wins Saturday I won't be absolutely devastated as I would normally (which I don't really remember how that feels because we have won the LAST 6...LOL). I say that because if Auburn doesn't have a chance to go to the National Championship Game this year, I would still like to see a SEC team there and I would rather Alabama than ...Florida...uggghhh!!!

I also have to give a good luck shout out to our beloved Tennessee Titans, Bless Their Hearts, they have worked so hard this season and have the best record in the NFL with ONLY 1 loss !! They play Thursday on Thanksgiving Day in Detroit and should win!! I have grown to love the Titans almost as much as I love my Auburn team...Okay, maybe half as much, but I definitely am becoming a fan and love to watch them now!! So, Good Luck to Both the teams and Happy Thanksgiving!! Emmie wore her Titans sleeper last night to bed, so I took her picture for their "Good Luck" charm also :)

Emmie and Me-Maw

The last 2 weeks have been great for us. Paul's mom came up from Miami and stayed home with Emmie. She had the best time and so did Emmie. We went shopping and like all grandma's, she bought way too many clothes and toys than any one baby should ever have!! She bought Emmie this cute little gym and Emmie just loves it. I took a picture of her after she played with it yesterday and was so exausted she gave up and fell asleep!! After Me-Maw left yesterday, she called as soon as her plane landed and said she was already wanting to get back on the plane to come back to her :) She had a hard time leaving her and we hated to see her go.

Today Paul is keeping Emmie and I am anxious to see how well he does all day with her. I just talked to him and she slept until 9 am and he feed her and they were just hanging out :) He does so good with her and I am glad he has Fridays off so he can always keep her home, one less day she has to be in daycare!!

So, now I am excited and looking forward to my mom coming in town to spend Thanksgiving and to stay with Emmie at home while I am at work. Emmie is really growing now and is smiling a lot now and is starting to make noises! She is almost laughing too! She smiles so big and you can tell she is just on the verge of letting out a laugh, it is the cutest thing!! Like a silent laugh!! I am betting she will be cooing and laughing by the time Christmas gets here!

Here are a few pictures of Emmie yesterday, Paul asked how she could get holes in her jeans when she can't even crawl yet! I said it was the style and, of course, Emmie will ALWAYS have to be dressed in the latest, cutest styles! LOL We had an appointment downtown yesterday and afterwards went to my office to show her off! Needless to say she was a big hit and everybody just said she was the cutest thing they ever saw (of course :) Hope everyone has a great weekend!

It is so nice to be able to go home to such a great family!! I am truly blessed for our family! I hope everyone has a great weekend! This is a picture Paul sent me from his cell phone of Emmie this morning...she just gets cuter and cuter every single second of the day!

Bath Time!!

Emmie absolutely LOVES her bath time so I thought I'd take a few pictures of her from last night!! The slideshow is her bath time and these are after...such a happy baby!!

After her bath, she is pretty exausted and gets ready for sleep, but she is already becoming quite attached to her binky! So I took some cute pictures of her after bath when I laid her down she was looking for it and could only find her hand to suck on! That did not appease her for long though!! LOL

Then....she was OUT!!!

Mommy & Me

So, after a long day at work, I got some much needed "Mommy and Emmie" time!! It was great to come home to a sweet, beautiful and precious baby after my first day back at work. Emmie did really good yesterday while I was at work. She is a very good baby and never fusses or cries unless she doesn't feel good. Even when she gets hungry, most of the time, she is content with her Binky (pacifier) until her "meal" is ready :) She did have some tummy troubles after her 5:00 dinner and after talking with a friend at work, I am attributing to the yogurt covered raisins I had at lunch! So, no more raisins for me, at least for a little while!! Other than the tummy ache, Emmie seemed vey happy and content to have me home. She snuggled with me and smiled at me a lot and just made the day all better!! I can't wait to go home this afternoon to another quiet night with my baby!! Oh, and my husband was a sweetie too and cooked me dinner and did pretty much everything else around the house so that Emmie and I could just sit and hang out the rest of the night :) He's great too!!

These are some pictures from when I was home with MiMi and her cousins Abram and Eli...they just couldn't give her enough kisses!! It was so cute (Eli who is the youngest of Nikki's kids and is 3 years old) had figured out pretty quick after being around Emmie he ALWAYS had to put Germ-X on before he could touch or hold Emmie. So, he got to where he would come up to me with a big smile on his face and hold up his sweet little hands and say "Can I touch/hold her, I got Germ-X!" I would say "Are you sure?!" He would say "Smell 'em"......because I told him you could smell the Germ-X to know if he used it!! It was so cute! And when anybody else would come to see Emmie or visit and want to hold her, Eli would say "you have to use Germ-X"!! or he would say "if you get some Germ-X, you can hold her"...Too Cute!!

Back to Work

So, today is my first day back at work. I reluctantly dragged myself out of bed this morning and got dressed (make up and everything!) for the first time since Emmie was born...LOL at least for the first time before lunch!! It wasn't horrible coming back, as I don't have to take Emmie to daycare until at least next year. We have been so fortunate to have our families come up here to stay and keep Emmie so she doesn't have to go to daycare until she is bigger and stronger. Paul's mom flew in from Miami Saturday and will be staying for a couple of weeks and then my mom is coming for the week of Thanksgiving. Then I will be part time and just come in the afternoons when Paul gets off work for the first couple of weeks in December and then we are taking a week off for Christmas to go home and then my sister will come up to keep her the week after Christmas. And Paul's mom may even come back after that for the month of January. So, it has really worked out so good that our families can help with the transition. It definitely made it so much easier coming back to work and knowing Emmie was safe and snuggle-y and spoiled at home with family instead of dragging her out in the cold and leaving her with someone she doesn't know!! I just can't imagine how it would have been if I had to take her straight to daycare this early, it would be so hard. So, I'm back to the grindstone at work!! It won't be too bad the first few days until I really get back into the swing of things and the stress starts back up!! LOL Anyway, it is nice now to think throughout the day what a sweet precious little baby I have waiting at home for me when I get there!
Emmie is growing so fast already! She had her 2 month checkup Friday and weighed in at a whopping 7 lbs 7 oz and 20.5 inches long!! She is the size of newborn now :) To me she is so big already, it's funny when people see her and say how little she is because she has already almost doubled her size!! She is doing just perfect, the doctor said she looked like a perfect little baby to him!! Absolutely healthy and growing great!! She did have her 4 shots and did so good, only crying when they gave them to her and that was it!! I have some recent pictures from our trip that I have to have put on a CD and then I will post them, hopefully in the next day or two!! Until then, I hope everyone has a good week!!
