I think I MAY have found my calling!! :)

My mom and grandmother came in town over the past weekend and wanted me to take them "coupon-ing"! Boy did we do some damage!!! They were really excited to see just how much we could save and get for free!! Well, let's just say I didn't dissappoint them!!
I won't go through all the details on how we got everything, but here is SOME of the stuff I can think of that we got...
24 - 4 pack Cottonelle toilet paper, 10 bags Beggin Strips dog treats, 10 boxes Milk Bone dog treats (we all have dogs!), 4 boxes brownie mix, 14 cake frostings, 14 bags cookie mix, 10 BIG (20 oz) bags Hersheys chocolates (NOT Valentine's ones), 4 coffee creamers, 2 tubs butter, 8-6 packs juicy juice drinks, 8 Herbal Essence shampoos, 12 Suave body washes, 6 Gillette shampoos, 4 Fusion razors, 20 packs Gilette Mach 3 razors, 10-20 packs Schick razors, 4 Black Rice products (VERY expensive facial creams), 8-6 packs Boost nutritional drinks, 2-6 packs Glucerna (diabetes) shakes, 2 boxes Glucerna cereal (Grandmother is diabetic), 20 packs round make up remover pads, 6 greeting cards, 6 lysol Neitra air starter kits, several paper towels, 3 boxes Multigrain Cheerios, 4 packs betty crocker brownie delights, 6 tubes toothpaste...and that's all the stuff I can think of off the top of my head, there was tons of other stuff, but I just wanted to give an idea of HOW much we got! So, the grand total for our weekend shopping excursion.....less than $140!!!!! Grand total for value of stuff we got....over $900!! So, on top of all the stuff we got over the weekend, I loaded her up with tons of stuff I already had, body washes, glade scents, soaps, food, etc! They had my mom's trunk AND back seat literally overflowing when they left to go back home!!
It was so incredible to be able to do that with them! My grandmother donates to her church food bank and my mom gives most of it to my sister (with 3 kids, she uses ALL that stuff ALL the time)! Oh, I forgot to mention I also gave my grandmother 3 diabetes monitors and sent 3 to my sister to give to my other grandmother and aunt!! So, when my sister went to my moms last night, she almost passed out when she saw everything!! She could not believe everything we got!! My mom sent pretty much all the stuff home with her and it was GREAT to be able to help everyone out with all these incredible STEALS!! My sister is going to take the Boost shakes to school and give it to a special needs child who drinks them (these things are like $9 a pack and his family doesn't have a lot of money)!! Also, my mom got all the mens razors, shampoo, all kinds of foods, etc and made a VERY nice, HUGE box of stuff to send to my brother at West Point for him and all his army friends to enjoy also!!
I tell you all of that, not to brag about the "good deeds" we did, but just to tell you how blessed I feel to have been given the opportunity to bless others!! When I started doing all this coupon stuff it was for fun and to save a little bit of money for my family. Now that I have learned how useful coupons can be and how much you can bless others less fortunate than yourself with the great deals and freebies also, it is so worth every single minute I spend clipping and organizing!! I loved "paying it forward" to my family! Goodness KNOWS my sister and mom have done some amazing things to help me out when I needed it!!
So, next time you are in a line with someone using coupons, don't laugh or huff because it may take them a little bit longer to check out, smile and know they are probably doing some great things thanks to their "coupon-ing"!!
One more thing I HAVE to mention, in case any of you have CVS near you and want to get in on a GREAT deal this week. I went last night and got 12-12 packs of Coke and Diet Coke AND 4 bars of Neutrogena Facial Soap for less than $20 out of pocket AND walked away with $20 to use next time I am in CVS!!!!! Email me and I'll tell you how I did it!!
I will leave you with my sweet, smiling baby this morning (it is a cell phone picture, so sorry it isn't the best quality!)

Happy (Early) Valentine's Day!!

Just wanted to tell everyone to have a Happy Valentine's Day!! Emmie wanted to send a BIIIIIGGGG hug to all of you (and a cute smile, too!)

I am very excited about this weekend. My mom and grandmother are coming up to visit Miss Priss and they have been saving up their coupons to go shopping!! LOL My grandmother is especially excited to learn how to coupon, as she lives in Greenville and they have a CVS and Walgreens, so she wants to learn how to get all these freebies I talk about!! And my mom is just as excited, although she lives where most of you live and have NONE of the "good" stores to shop at, BUT I always tell her, she can STILL save lots and lots of money with the stores she has!! It just takes some patience and time to learn! So, we will be having fun this weekend going to get all kinds of goodies for FREE (or at least very cheap)!! And, yes, you can all laugh at me for getting excited about going couponing, BUT I am laughing all the way to the bank!! :) The last 2 months, my grocery bill has been cut in HALF at least AND I basically never pay more than $0.50 for ANY sort of toiletry item. So, I can live with that!!

BTW, I just have to tell you about my Publix shopping trip last night, it was GREAT!! Here is what I got....

10 - Assorted Pillsbury canned biscuits (Grands, crescents and BIG Cinnabon ones)= $0.30 EACH
2 - Land O Lakes Butter (medium tubs) = $0.07 EACH
2 - Betty Crocker Fruit Roll up boxes = $0.40 EACH
2 - Farm Rich French Toast sticks = $0.90 EACH Box
2 - boxes Aleve = FREE
2 - boxes Frosted mini wheats = $1.09 EACH
2 - boxes Pillsbury Moist Cake Mix (reduced sugar, to make up for all the other junk, right?!) = $0.05 EACH box

Spent $8.76........Saved $64.54, That's 88% savings!!! Great buys, right?!! :)

Anyway, hope you all have a great weekend!!

Emmie is 5 months old today!!

I can't believe she is already 5 months old! She is growing so fast and so big! I weighed her this morning and she is a whopping 12 lbs. 4 oz.!! I didn't measure her length, but I'm guessing about 24 inches, maybe even 24.5 (she was 23.5 at her 4 month checkup), she is starting to fill up my arms now when I hold her!! She is FINALLY starting to get a little "meat" on her bones, still a little thing, but growing for sure!! I can't get enough of her smiles and laughs and kisses!! She is still in awe over her hands!! She literally crams them so far in her mouth, she gags herself and I have to pull them out of her mouth! She loves them!! She is beginning to "find" her legs, she pulls on them when she lays down and she is getting very ticklish! Especially her little fat thighs, she LOVES for you to tickle them and will just laugh and laugh, so sweet! I am so blessed to have such a sweet baby, she truly is just the happiest baby ever. She never fusses or cries unless she really, REALLY needs something like a diaper change or is starving!! Of course, she never has to wait long because she is so spoiled already, momma and daddy don't let her get that mad before giving in!! LOL But, seriously, she is a very sweet and good baby, very quiet!! She will just sit in her bumbo or exersaucer and play and watch us and just stays content and smiles ALL the time!! So, anyway, just wanted to love on my baby today and show everyone some new pictures!! There are a bunch, but I loved them all and had to show all of them, bear with me!!

Here is her trying to cram her hand down her throat (and wondering why EVERYone doesn't do this too!!).......
Gotta have a little help from both hands to get it in there!!

"GOT IT!!!"

"Oh, yea, now THIS is good...I JUST can't get enough!! YUMMY!!"

"Here, Mommy, you wanna try some?!"

"WHAT? It's good!!"

THIS is daddy's way of entertaining himself after Emmie has a bath, he thinks it's hilarious!!...Poor baby!!

This was Emmie this morning when I walked in the room, she wakes up with a sweet smile on her face, EVERY DAY!!

This morning before going to work and daycare, in her bumbo (which she loves!)

And a few more before we left...

And lastly, one of my favorite pictures to date.......

Such a sweet, pretty little baby (if I do say so myself :)!!

My Recent Coupon Trip!! :)

So, I thought you all would enjoy this experience I had last night with my new "hobby" of couponing!!
I had printed 10 Buy One Get One Coupons from the Glade website. ( Hint:You can use ONE Manufacturer coupon for EACH item you buy, thats ANYwhere!! So, if you ever have a buy one get one Coupon and the store has a BOGO sale, you get both FREE!! )

These Glades are $9.99 EACH at Walgreens and Walgreens has their own in-store coupon for $4 off one of these! So, You pay $10 for 2, then use one $3 Q making it $7 for 2, THEN you use Walgrrens ad Q for -$8 ($4 off EACH) making you PROFIT $1...you only pay tax (the -$1 goes towards your tax)! So, here's what happened...
I have a Walgreens on either side of my house about 3 blocks each way and decided to go to the one on my way home from work yesterday! This particular Walgreens is kinda small and the other is a HUGE 24 hour Walgreens. So, I go in the store and thought to myself, I should probably not confuse the cashier by getting sooooo many of these (Glade things) at once, but then I thought, WHY NOT?! There is not a limit on these and I am doing nothing wrong by getting all of them! I KNEW better, but I did it anyway! Sometimes cashiers get cranky about coupons which is RIDICULOUS to me since it isn't coming out of their pocket AND the store gets reimbursed for the coupon, so the store STILL makes their money! And, if manufacturer's didn't want you to use their coupons, they wouldn't make them, they are there to USE!!!
So, I got 16 of them and also 9 OLAY Botanicals body wash (clearance for $1.39 - $1 coupon I had for EACH). I get to the checkout and the {older} cashier just looked at me like I was crazy. I say older because I have been warned NOt to go through lines with "older" cashiers as they will scrutinize your coupons and try to give you a hard time for no reason!! I told her I have tons of coupons and she said okay.
Well, it wasn't okay because when I gave her the BOGO Q'a she called the manager to "make sure" I could use that many! THEN, she called the manager again when I gave her the $3 Q's telling me she didn't think I could use them since I had used the BOGO and I was getting 2 for the price of 1 already! I said, yes you can, she DID NOT like that :) The manager said I could (after some hesitation). Then the cashier totaled it and I said I have more Q's and handed her the Walgreens in-store Q for $4 of each and it scanned for -$64 (16 @$4)...the cashier FLIPPED out! She looked at me and said "Oh, that isn't right, you can't take THAT much off your order"!!!
At this point, there was a line behind me and she was making sure everyone heard her! I asked her why and she said it "just wasn't right to take that much off my order"...seriously that was her answer!! No, reason, it just "wasn't right" LOL !!
So, the manager comes over and doesn't appreciate my Q's either and just says (as she's SHOVING my bags at me) "Here, just take them!" So, I DID!!! I paid $19.87 and saved $193.23!!

Here's the kicker, when I got home I realized she rang up one of my BOGO Q's as $0.99 instead of $9.99...I actually should have only paid $10.87. So, the more I thought about it, the madder I got and couldn't believe how they treated me, like I was doing something SO bad and HORRIBLE because I used a bunch of Q's! I decided to call the OTHER Walgreens and ask the manager exactly what the Q policy was for Walgreens, i.e. could you use manufacturer coupons AND Walgreens coupons for the same item. He said OF COURSE I could!! He said, "If the register takes all of them, it is perfectly fine!" So, he asked me why, if something happened in his store. So, I tell him exactly what the other Walgreens did to me and how they STILL didn't give me all my Q's and he said "You come right over here with your receipt and bags and I will take care of it!"
I headed right over.......end result.....he REFUNDED me $51.09!!! He said the Apple Cinnamon ones I got (6 of them) were clearance at his store for $4.00 and so he gave me CREDIT BACK for all those on top of my additional $9 they owed me!!!...........I am still in AWE!
I just kept telling him over and over how grateful I was and that I was FOREVER his customer! He just said there was NOTHING wrong with using Q's AND the Walgreens store coupon, even if it goes into the negative, just get more stuff to cover the overage! I had one more BOGO for these that he GLADLY told me to go use, so he rang that up and I paid $0.84 for BOTH!!!!! YAY!!
So, I have been to other Wags to do this through out the week and here is the grand total from all week...40 Glade and 9 OLAY Botanical Body Washes and 1 Air Wick plug in (this was clearance at $0.50)....pocketed $31 CASH back on my debit card!!!!
AND I found my favorite Walgreens!! LOL I am going to give most of them to my mom and sister for their daycare and some others to friends, etc so everyone can enjoy the FREEBIES! Here was my kitchen table "displaying" all my goodies!! LOL Paul almost passed out this morning when he saw it and then heard I MADE money off it!! (He was asleep when I came home last night!)
